I have talked a lot about the older kiddos and their homeschool curriculum. Today is time to chat about our sweet little two year old. As you can imagine he is two in all its glory, but we love it! So what will our little be doing while I school the others? Totschool! If you search back on my Instagram, you would see a tons of totschooling. We have loved totschooling and starting out their schooling years with fun activities, that keep them entertained while also teaching them. I also love that this will set the tone and rhythms for our two year old that we all follow.
I love nothing more than one on one time with each of my kids. But thats not always realistic while homeschooling 5th-Kindergarten grades. The truth of the matter is they might need my attention more at times. So with our two year old we will introduce some independent play, alongside activities that he can do on his own. As well as activities that will require more of my attention.
We will follow our Simply Learning Schedule as always. We’ve followed these themes since our oldest was little and she’s almost 11! Unfortunately her site is no longer available, but I did try to recreate the schedule so that you can have a visual of what he will be learning and access to it if you would like to use it yourself. She has a great instagram if you want to search back, you can get some amazing ideas!
Of course being huge readers in our home, he also will be read aloud too often. The books will often focus on the theme for that week and the activities will go right beside the books and themes. With five kids in all, these activities will be simple and easy to put together and do. I will also be utilizing some of our tried and true toys and learning resources throughout the years.
Here’s our list of 14 learning resources we have used for years now:
- Puzzles
- Nuts and Bolts
- Spike the Hedgehog
- Do-a-dot Markers
- Toddler Helping Hands
- Mess-Free Crayola Coloring Book
- Sticker books
- Drill set
- Water WOW books
- Magnet Tiles
- Button Peg Board
- Lacing Cards
- Pattern Blocks
- Alphabet Letters & Numbers
I hope this list is helpful to you while you keep little hands busy! I would love to know, how do you keep your toddler entertained?
