All week long I’ll be sharing all of our favorite thanksgiving recipes and ones we will be using this year. My hope is that this will be helpful to you as you host your thanksgiving. This will be my 6th year hosting thanksgiving and it is my favorite! I will post in increments adding more and more recipes to this post.
Today we are tackling appetizer, breads and drinks:
(added to this list will be some sort of charcuterie board of cheese and crackers to go along with the breads)
- Drinks: water, coffee, tea and this yummy thanksgiving punch
- Breads: bread rolls & pumpkin shaped artisan bread (served along side cheeses and butter)
- Appetizers: deviled eggs with candied bacon & pimento cheese and crackers ( I might add one more depending on what time dinner will be done). To candy the bacon I simply add a tablespoon of black pepper and a 1 cup of brown sugar and mix together. Lay the bacon down in a sheet pan and pat the mixture on to each strip of bacon. Bake at 375 till sugar melts 25-30 min…. please allow it to cool the sugar will be super hot!
Entrees:
- Smoked Ham: This will be my second year making a ham. I always find it not necessary but then end up missing it, so this year we are adding it back in! That recipe looks amazing!!!
- Turkey brine!!!!: Please brine your turkey It’ll make for such a juicy turkey and so tasty!
- Herbed butter: It give your turkey even more flavor and that golden delicious look! I add to the butter the same things that are in the brine, so ill zest the orange into the butter and so on.
- Turkey: The main event! I love a good turkey!
Sides:
I love thanksgiving side dishes! Here’s a list of all the ones we will be making this thanksgiving:
- Green Bean Casserole: I’ve made this super simply in the past but haven’t had it in quite a few years. This recipe for it looks absolutely amazing!!!
- Mashed potatoes: So yummy and simple, always good!
- Mac and Cheese: Nothing beats homemade mac and cheese, I made this same recipe last year and it was delicious. The crumb topping is a must!
- Stuffing (dressing): I Made this same recipe last year and it was my favorite, so flavorful!
- Cranberry sauce: This is one I make just for my in-law. I didn’t really grow up with cranberry sauce and wouldn’t miss it really, but it is yummy recipe if you need to have it! It’s so simple you absolutely do not need a can.
Desserts:
These recipes look amazing! To be totally transparent I might end up buying the pies. I homemade them last year and didnt love them as much as store bought. These recipes are new ones to me, and it is simple to make since you can make them ahead of time.
- Pumpkin Pie: This recipe looks so yummy! Hopefully it will be!
- Apple Pie: Apple pie just makes sense during thanksgiving as well as pumpkin pie. It’s a must have at any thanksgiving dessert table!
- Pumpkin Bundt Cake: I’ve made this recipe twice before and it’s delicious every time. The ingredients are odd but goodness it comes out soooo yummy!
- Pumpkin Roll: I made a pumpkin roll last year and it was the kids favorite. So I will definitely make it again for them this year. It’s such a fun dessert.
I hope you enjoy and try some of these recipes as they have proven to be some of the yummiest for my family and some of the ones we got to year after year!
