As of tomorrow we will have a two year old in our house again. Where in the world did the time go?! It seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the NICU. I love the two year old face, is it at times challenging, yes! but it is to me the most fun. They are learning to play independently and get how to play games. Their imagination is endless at this age. All the sweet sounds and scenarios start to play out.
Being that he is a our fifth child I am extremely picky as to what come in the house and what toys they will actually use and play with. Of course all kids have individual interest but alongside there are tried and true toys in our home that even with our oldest continue to be hits in our home!
I wanted to put together this gift guide as a simple curated way to help you find a gift that might be just right for the child you are shopping for. I look at gift guides all the time specially for my older ones. Getting ideas of what is tried and true at someone else home gives me a view of how it might look in our home.
- Magnatiles: These are a hit for kids of all ages and two is the perfect place to start gifting magnatiles. Somehow in our house they disappear, so these are added to gift list often.
- Blocks: Blocks are always fun! My two year old loves to build towers as big as him.
- Bouncy Pals: These are a great way to burn energy when raining or cold out.
- Helmet: Two year olds are starting to adventure a little further so these safety helmets are great!
- Cars: We were gifted another set during christmas and it is still his favorite so I figured we would add to it.
- Poke A Dot Book: This is one we already own also, a different version, but these are so fun for this age and to keep them engaged during read alouds.
- Play Broom Set : My toddler loves to help, I think it’s time we get him his very own set.
- Pajamas: Pajamas are always a good idea. Somehow my kids outgrow these way before their clothes so they are also always on the gift list.
- Balance Bike : These are perfect starter bikes.
- Trampoline: Great way to burn energy and have fun when we cant always go outside.
